Honoring Our Veterans:
Monument Cleaning with DAV Chapter 2

We are proud to announce another successful community engagement event dedicated to honoring our veterans' sacrifices for our country. We partnered with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 2 of Clifton, New Jersey, whose dedicated volunteers undertook the invaluable task of cleaning veteran markers throughout our cemetery.

This collaborative effort not only ensured the pristine appearance of these sacred memorials but also served as a powerful testament to our collective gratitude. Among the dedicated volunteers pictured were:

  • Ryan Farnon, Commander of DAV Chapter 2 in Clifton, who served in the Air Force from 2008-2012, with deployments in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

  • Michael Horvath, a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, whose distinguished career included service in Korea and Vietnam. He also served aboard the USS Intrepid (now a naval carrier museum in NY Harbor) in 1952.

  • Ximena Oros, Edward Farnon, and John Lowe, all proud veterans of the U.S. Navy, whose careers spanned from the Iran and Bosnia crises through Operation Iraqi Freedom.

  • Pat Delassio, who served honorably in the U.S. Army for 24 years, including service in Iraq.

We extend our deepest gratitude to DAV Chapter 2 for their partnership and to all the volunteers for their selfless efforts in preserving the memory and dignity of our veterans.

Honoring Our Veterans: A Flag Placement Ceremony

We are honored to share news of our first community engagement event, a  flag placement ceremony held in partnership with Berkeley College. This initiative was a poignant tribute to our nation's veterans, recognizing their unwavering commitment and the profound sacrifices they made for our country.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of volunteers from Berkeley College, American flags were respectfully placed throughout the entire cemetery on every resting place that had a veteran's marker or medallion. Each flag served as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance, transforming our grounds into a vibrant display of patriotism and honor. This event not only allowed us to pay tribute to those who served but also brought our community together in a shared moment of reflection and respect.

We extend our sincere thanks to Berkeley College for their partnership and to all the volunteers who helped make this meaningful event possible.
